The socks keep marching.....

The Weekly Sock Project is going very well...I am on the foot of my 8th sock and it is only Week 5. I am nearly 3 weeks ahead! and as I promised myself, I need to work on more complicated socks OR on different projects now that my "work" is out of the way.

I have a serious baby knitting debt that I need to work on....I have four (FOUR) babies that have been born or are expected in the next few months, three girls and one unknown. I have loads of pink Cascade 220 in the stash, but these are not knitting moms who understand handwashing.

I need machine washable wool!

I would like to knit Baby Surprise Jackets for them....part of me wants to knit a Moderne Log Cabin Baby Blanket but another part of me says that blankets are not really appreciated and are not thrilling to open.

A cuteness/wow factor poll: Which is the winner?

-Baby Surprise Jacket/Sweater
-Blanket
-Hat/Booties
-Three baby socks and Target gift card

Melanie just finished a charity blanket and gifted it to the YWCA.....maybe I can scratch my need to knit Log Cabin by stashbusting on that.....?

Cuteness & wow -- I'd go w/ Baby Surprise. Could always do matching hat & booties if you felt ambitious....

While garments are cute, they're used for so little time...Andra has sweaters she only wore once before she outgrew them. Blankets though, you can use for years...Ainsley used a handmade blanket at school for 3 years until it fell apart and she begged me to make her a new one! Love the moderne baby blanket too - very posh by blanket standards!

I have to admit that I hate baby blankets. There. It's out in the open now. Beofre knitting, I received many and usually prefered the store-bought, easily machine-washed and dried blankets. Non-knitting moms don't get how long they take to knit and usually either trash them or never use them because they think they're an heirloom.

I vote for the jacket because it is very cute and in a small enough size, can be used on a stuffed animal. Love the little knits!

Congrats on your sock progress. Can't wiat for the fashion show finale.
